We use personal information to operate accounts, manage applications, match people with work and respond to enquiries. We do not sell personal information.

01

Who we are

Brightpath Recruitment is the recruitment service responsible for this website. For UK data protection purposes, the business operating Brightpath Recruitment is the controller of personal information described in this policy unless we tell you otherwise.

This policy applies to job seekers, people who submit a CV or enquiry, employer and supplier contacts, referees, website visitors and account holders.

02

Information we collect

Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:

  • identity and contact details, including your name, email address, telephone number and postal address;
  • account credentials and communication preferences;
  • CVs, employment history, skills, qualifications, salary expectations, availability and role preferences;
  • application history, saved jobs, interview information and recruitment correspondence;
  • information supplied by employers or referees where relevant to a recruitment process;
  • contact-form messages, newsletter choices and support records;
  • technical information such as IP address, device/browser data, security logs and cookie choices.

Please do not send bank details, passwords, National Insurance numbers, identity documents, health information or criminal-record information through general website forms unless we specifically request it through an appropriate secure process.

03

Where information comes from

Most information comes directly from you when you register, update your profile, apply for a job, upload a CV, subscribe or contact us. We may also receive recruitment-related information from employers, referees, publicly available professional sources, job boards or service providers where permitted by law.

04

How and why we use information

We use personal information to provide and improve our services, including to create and secure accounts, process applications, review CV submissions, communicate about suitable roles, manage employer requirements, prevent fraud, maintain records and comply with legal obligations.

Our lawful bases may include:

  • Contract: where processing is necessary to provide a service you request or take steps before entering a contract.
  • Legitimate interests: to operate a responsible recruitment service, match job seekers with relevant opportunities, communicate with business contacts and protect our systems, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation: where we must keep or disclose information to comply with law.
  • Consent: where the law requires consent, including certain optional cookies or communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.

We do not use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Technology may assist search and matching, but recruitment decisions involve human judgement.

05

Who we share information with

Where necessary and lawful, information may be shared with prospective employers you have agreed to be considered by, technology and hosting providers, professional advisers, screening or compliance providers, and public authorities where required by law. We require service providers to protect information and use it only for authorised purposes.

If information is transferred outside the UK, we use an applicable lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards.

06

Security and retention

We use organisational and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information against accidental loss, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. Access is limited to people who need it for their role.

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including recruitment, legal, accounting, dispute and security requirements. Retention depends on the nature and sensitivity of the information, our relationship with you and applicable law. Information is securely deleted or anonymised when no longer required.

07

Your UK data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us to:

  • provide access to your personal information;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • delete information;
  • restrict or object to particular processing;
  • provide certain information in a portable format; or
  • withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.

Some rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You will not normally have to pay to exercise these rights.

08

Cookies and website data

Essential cookies keep the website secure and enable features such as sessions and account access. Optional preference or analytics cookies are used only according to your selection. You can review your choices using the link or read our cookie policy.
